In the beginning of this threat it is mentioned that this is easy to do on the web server. Perhaps because of that, this is not implemented yet.
However, this is not true with the Internet of Things. For example, i have a number of camera's that I would like to expose /cam1/, /cam2/, etc.
With this, i can make one firewall rule with different paths, each redirecting to a different cam web server. I can't do the rewrite in the cam itself.

This is a must have. a) block traffic from an Ip address if multiple ports are tried in a short time, b) block traffic from IP addresses that have bounced closed ports over a longer period of time
