"Reinstall Endpoint Protection" Doesn't Do Anything
"Reinstall Endpoint Protection" is offered as an action on the Alerts page; however it only links to the download page. There is no ability to actually reinstall endpoint protection so it is pointless offering this as an action. Functionality needs to be developed to reinstall from Central Admin, to problem endpoints. I am hoping that we see this feature when ADSync pulls objects into Central.
Having more control over the agent in general from Central would be very helpful. Reinstalling, uninstalling, rebooting, etc would make this product more on par with some of it's competitors.
Just an automatic remediation feature, where you could apply per group? You've detected an event that needs a repair, then sure, in my policy I'll have an option to attempt an automatic repair.
This forum has no "NO" votes, but this idea would get one from me. Please do not give me the headache of managing the deployment from AWS (ie. "the Cloud") of complex software to hundreds if not thousands of endpoints connected every which way, routed through who knows what kinds of firewalls, private routers and numberless ISP's, using obscure udp or whatever ports. No thanks.
