Peripheral Control - manually add USB devices by VID/PID
We would like to block hardware mouse jigglers, devices that masquerade as mice and send fake mouse movement to the computer at regular intervals. Users employ these devices to keep their session from timing out and locking, thus avoiding having to enter their password to unlock the computer, but this creates a security issue with open computers.
Peripheral Control only allows you to manage USB devices that fall under predefined categories like Bluetooth, removable storage, etc. Mice and keyboards are not included. While we don't want to block mice and keyboards, the jigglers present themselves as mice. We can differentiate them from a normal mouse via the vendor VID and product PID in the registry, for example at Computer\HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\VID0E90&PID0045.
It would be nice to have a feature where Central administrators add a device to Peripheral Control by VID and PID so they could apply policy to it.
Thank you for your consideration.
