Sophos Agent Removal Tool
We need a tool to remotely remove Sophos agents.
Thanks for your patience waiting for this, we have now formally released a removal tool.
The script was intended to assist support with manual removals they were performing. As the file name numbering implies, there were many iterations as additional requirements were identified. For that reason we controlled access via support to avoid people unwittingly using old versions with known issues/omissions.
We have now produced an executable version of the tool, which supersedes all scripted versions. This has just been approved for release this week.
Support will be using this for the next week or two before making it publicly available via a KBA.
Later this year we intend to make it a command line option on the installer for even easier access.
Again, thank you for your patience waiting for this to be released. Please contact support if you need the tool urgently, otherwise there should be a KB article in the next week or two which will detail how to get it and how to use it.

Jon, Thank you for your time and work you and your team have put into making this tool possible. I would like to request a link to this Remote removal tool as well. Have a great day.

So, it's been nearly 1 1/2 months since the announcement of the removal tool, yet it's still not available. Any idea when we might actually be able to download and use it?
excuse me, but how can I download it?
The new removal tool is based on different technology than the uninstall script. We need to test it thoroughly before we release it to the public. I think no-one wants to experience that something's crashing after its use. We will communicate its release as soon as it is available to the public. At the moment there is no release date.
Remember that this tool should only be used on corrupted clients. For a normal uninstallation the built-in Microsoft uninstall should be used.
Will this idea/thread be updated the the KBA once it's released from Support?
Great news! Looking forward to the public release.

I contacted the support thru the support portal and was basically told used the opening a case thru the support portal is not good enough to get the tool and that have to call to get the tool. I thought the using the support portal was prefer was of contacting support.
Just an FYI, the support agents are not yet releasing this tool even if you need it urgently. They will remote in and run it for you if needed. I will continue to wait until it is released. Hopefully soon.

I hope that this Sophos Agent Removal Tool removes more than just the agent.
Can you please add a link to the formally released tool in this thread?
How can I get a copy now? I would like to try it out on a system that I cannot get Sophos uninstalled from.
Ask your support / account manager for a copy of the removal script. Its in beta but works well.. Its a vital tool and we dont understand why it isnt available as a download from within Central.

not having a tool IT Admin can use to remove the product reeks of a "control issue" based on that fact alone i would never recommend the product..
we need it asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we need it asap
the sooner it is available the better.
This needs to be made available
We need the removal tool please. Why is this so complicated?
Please make a tool for a clean Uninstall in windows.
I am the IT Manager at a small school, (500 PC's) and we recently moved AV products to use Sophos Endpoint Protection for our Windows PC's. We have had a couple of PC's didn't install the new Sophos software correctly. The Uninstall process "fails", and their appears to be no other option than the MANUALLY removal of the software via a reboot into SAFE mode.
Our previous AV software had a "Removal Tool / Program" for exactly this reasons / purpose, (as install / uninstall problems are not unheard of !) and I am more than a little surprised that Sophos does NOT have this facility / utility / product.
(If I had discovered this information BEFORE my school selected Sophos as our next AV product, I can tell you that I would have recommended / chosen an alternative AV product).
