wireless band steering
Band steering allows dual band devices to be forced onto the faster 5Ghz spectrum when supported to free up bandwidth for those devices which only support the 2.4Ghz spectrum.
I believe Sophos Cloud wifi already supports this.
We need this on both XG and UTM
Thank you for Reaching out .
Wireless Bandsteering on XG & UTM is present in our Roadmap . We will keep you posted once a Release Vehicle is Identified .
I did not find this information if it is already present in 17.1, has not this resource been applied yet?

Come'on Sophos, if you want to compete with the real world on wireless, there is nog excuse not to have support for band steering. Please come forward with a release date, this took long enough
Any update on this (for XG)?
I trialled an AP55C but users complained WiFi was slow because they were going onto 2.4ghz rather than 5ghz.
Currently deploy UniFi AC-PRO or Cisco WAP571 and they do this fine, but prefer the single pane of glass config on XG...

Any news on this?
I didn't hear something about this for over a year and think that's a fundamental function a managed wireless lan should have.
wish this would get more attention as ive noticed on MANY of my networks 5ghz getting trumped by 2.4ghz and users complaining about slow wireless from what we replaced
