Hostname displayed in Dashboard
A partner asked if there is a faster way of identifying which Sophos XG Firewall he is looking at just by looking at the Dashboard. The only answer I could give was compare the serial numbers. I think it makes sense if the hostname of the XG can be displayed in the Dashboard so that Partners or even administrators who are managing several of them can quickly tell them apart.
I agree we need at least a simple practical way to see what FW we are connected to.
This will avoid a lot of predictable configuration errors...

In the UI the FW name (Admin Settings...Hostname) is NOT shown anywhere.
Also, the FW Serial number is only shown on the primary pane at the top of screen when you are at the Control Center option.
Please add the FW name, Serial Number, & Firmware version where it will be available regardless of which panel you are viewing. Perfect place for this would be immediately after the Sohpos logo, XG Firewall text in the navigation bar. That way it will be visible throughout the UI. Many times during FW configuration, for review and comparison, I might have more than one FW open in different browser tabs. Except for looking at the tabs IP address, there is no way to determine which FW you are viewing if you are not on the Control Center panel.
Also the FW Name could be placed in the browser tab. Currently it only displays Sophos.

adding to this - will also help to be able to customize what's presented in title bar based on which zone a client is accessing the page from for obvious reasons.

Identifying which browser tab corresponds to which XG when tabs all say "Sophos" isn't possible without memorizing or clicking through each one. Prefixing the page title that populates in the browser tab with either ip address, hostname, or some other custom variable would be helpful when working with many XG's. The icon alone tells us it's a Sophos product, the "Sophos" text adds nothing useful.
change of hostname must reflect under control center. Where serial number is shown. If customer has more than two sophos firewall it becomes a hectic job to remember the IPs all the time. We could distinguish with the help of hostname.
please let us select the hostname as on utm with hostname, ip and user. it is annoying having 2 or 3 tabs called "sophos" if you change settings on multiple XG's
The idea will help the users that have many devices and need to know immediatly which one are facing by the control center and not only by the ip address on the address bar
Having the option to name a device using a friendly and having that name show up on top of the Network Security Control Center home page would be great.
