  1. ARM Processor Support

With the advent of the Surface Pro X, there is becoming a push for more 2-in-1 devices to work on ARM technology (as is found in most cell phones and tablets) to run full Windows OS's. However, there is no support for Endpoint Protection (Cloud or On-Prem) for these types of devices. I would like to see an Endpoint Protection package (Anti-virus, firewall, application control, etc.) that will support ARM processors.

  2. Block Google Quic on Sophos Central Endpoint Protection

Allow us to block Google Quic protocol on Endpoint level since we can do it from the Firewall. This would allow us to block it from the agent instead of having to manually disable it on Chrome or setup a Windows Firewall rule to block 443 or 80 on UDP.

  3. IPS on Endpoint - Heartbeat XG IPS offloading

Having now IPS on Endpoint, means that behind an XG FW with its own IPS activated there's a certain overlap (double check) of certain IPS patterns.
Proposal: use the heartbeat (synch security) to check whether or not the endpoint is sitting behind an XG FW with IPS enabled. If so, the endpoint doesn't have to check them again and can save some resources.

  6. reactivating disabled setting on windows Client like Mac Client

    On Windows Client:
If I have disabled tamper protection on a device, I can deactivate deep learning, real-time scanning etc. on the client using the Settings tab.

On Mac clients i can dasable and activate settings every time.

First of all, you must access the PBS Video channel on your Roku device. And move to the top navigation menu and choose Settings. Now, at the bottom of the settings menu, choose Change Account. 9. Exclusion Adding from Endpoint

It would be great to allow endpoint users to add their own exclusions with limitations set in Sophos Central... or the ability for them to directly request that exclusions be added and it display their request in Sophos Central where it can be applied with just a click or two.

  11. wrong ML PUA detection with bat to exe converters

BatToExe_Converter.exe is a packager that create executables. It is available in its version 3.2 at major download places such as techworld, majorgeeks, github, softpedia, etc.
Why do you detect the executables it generates as malware/pup?
Is it because it embeds batch scripts, which is its main purpose?
No one wants to embed such small projects in a full-fledged C# compiler.
Please explain your rationale or simply stop reporting false alerts. thank you.

  12. Sophos Device Encryption Suspended Verbose Logging

When updating your windows machines multiple alerts are fired informing admins Device encryption has been suspended. The thought here is to put more verbose logging so these aren't generic alerts but rather actionable alerts. Informing admins if the suspension is due to patching would be helpful as this is a standard practice that occurs every 30 days or so. This would help increase the priority to review this alert if we are able to distinguish between a patching suspension or another process which should be looked into more seriously.

  14. Show whether client initiates on-demand scan

Currently, you can initiate an endpoint scan from Sophos Central, but there is no way to tell from Central whether the scan was initiated until it completes - which could be several hours. The endpoint agent should communicate back to central when it initiates a scan, and Central should log an event either when a scan starts, or if the agent fails to respond after a reasonable timeout.

  15. Uninstaller

When there is problem with Endpoint, and reinstall is needed, after uninstall, there is lot of registry keys, and files left on the system. On some cases, i have to grab 3rd party tool to remove registry keys. It would be really helpful for us (aspecially in large enviroments), to have complete uninstaller. Something, that get rid of everything, all files, all registry keys, so i can do clean installation.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  17. Moving devices between sub-estates

    Hi,

Can I request the ability to move devices between sub-estates. I am part of an organisation that has many sub offices and each with their own requirements. Sub-estates work well for us apart from the fact we cannot move a device from one location to another.

    At present we need to

    1 - Disable Tamper Protection
2 - Download the Endpoint installer from the correct (destination) Sophos Central Instance.
3 - From a command prompt opened to where SophosSetup.exe was downloaded to, run: SophosSetup.exe --registeronly
4 - Enable Tamper Protection again

Whilst the above is useful on a one-off…

  18. Sophos Endpoint AV (Sophos Central) Disable Balloon Popups

Sophos Endpoint AV (Sophos Central) Disable Balloon Popups

Not only does it show other users internet usage to anyone but it’s also random to all users on a server. That’s a big privacy breach for a security company the ability to disable this is a must.

  19. Allow Sophos Central Policy override on the endpoint to toggle the options on and off

When you go to override the Sophos Central Policy for 4 hours to troubleshoot you have the option to toggle all the various options off. The problem is that you can't toggle them back on (and it was confirmed by Sophos support that they don't support this yet). It seems to me it would be a better idea to turn each of those on and off (actually use them as a toggle especially since they look like a toggle and appear to act as a toggle).

  20. Automatic Repair

    We are using Sophos Central.

There already seems to be a process of Sophos Endpoint/Server to auto repair itself as long as a couple of services are running. It would be beneficial to have a KB article published as to what that auto-magic repair process looks like and what, if anything Sophos administrators need to be aware of, to keep that process working.

Case-in-point. It would seem that we had tried pushing out the Sophos install to one of our machines that already had a competing AV product installed (so it wasn't removed as we thought) which caused the SAV…
