Monitoring: Add Zabbix / Nagios client
A lot of us (at least with bigger environments) are using systems like Zabbix or Nagios to monitor their stuff.
An direct integration of the clients into Astaro would it make a lot easier to integrate the Astaro boxes into it. SNMP alone does not provide a lot of values which are interesting to monitor. Like:
- Packet filter violations
- IPS stats
- VPN Users online
- and much more

There is SNMPv3 for polling which is as secure as any SSL'd NMS agent for easy access to interface metrics.. ASTARO-MIB describes a load of useful NOTIFICATION types, albeit only in SNMPv2, but which are more timely than polled data

I created my own app for Splunk Enterprise and can now generate lots of stats and reports only via syslog processing.

implementing an agent would really help. I install an agent myself to monitor network traffic on ethos/vlans. Zabbix/Nagios is way more flexable in show information (zoom-in/zoom-out) than a UTM can do. so, yes please

just create a different securityname other than public and you're snmp i pretty secure. and like sven says download the MIB and create your own check.

I don´t want to enable SNMP for security reasons, I think Nagios would be a better way.

considering that astaro has its own reporting tool, I don't think that they want to implement other solutions...

Maybe you download the Astaro MIB notifier information under 7.500 or above in the SNMP menu and integrate the SNMP Traps in your Nagios system.
thats not a real feature request... just create your own checks with snmp.
