Work on Stability, Reliability and Security
(Please admin, don't mark as already possible before clarifying!)
As mentioned earlier, it would be good to have code worked on to be stabilised. (No, 9.2 is not so stable, please check the forums, the latest 9.210-10 around for about a month is famous for being bad).
What we, the users, would like, is for work to be done on stabilising the firmware, rather than added features.
Sophos is GREAT, but it is very very unreliable. It needs to be restarted every month or 2.
Thanks for everyone’s votes and feedback on this feature. Sophos is taking steps to improve the quality/stability of software produced, and how this is delivered will take several forms, and isn’t something we can explicitly ever say “done” or “complete”, as this is an ongoing process that must be revisited with every new version. -nevertheless, I am marking this particular request as “complete”.
This is not a proclamation of perfection, but an administrative decision to acknowledge the contributors to this request, and confirm that Sophos has, and continues to take many positive steps in the name of quality, and you can expect positive trends moving forward, in stability, reliability, and security – but also that this is not truly a feature request in the proper style of this site. As we have heard this request, and are making changes in the correct direction to address the concerns of this request, I will mark it as completed, and return your votes to you.

Updated to 9.309 as it claims to fix several wireless issues present in 9.3.
Granted, we can now obtain a DHCP lease on a seperate zone wireless network, but it's still useless with the wireless speed being unbearable.
Rolling back to 9.2 until Sophos can get their act together.
Very wary of installing updates now. You read the things an update fixes, but you have to guess what the update will break. A lot of the time, not worth the risk. Learnt that the hard way unfortunately.

Latest firmwares are garbage, scared to upgrade as it brings more problems than it solves. Come on Sophos! Seriously looking to switch to Palo Alto as seems a much more stable platform.
Wifi Issue with seperate zone. High cpu usage, if you turn on features like IPS and DDos protection the units lock up. Seems to change with every update. Customers want stability. Is anyone actually testing this?

New up2date... new problems ...always the same.
Customers afraid to update their sophos utm systems!!!
Customers feel like beta tester... but it is GA!
As a sophos partner and reseller it is difficult to explain to customers.
Sophos support also complains about massive growth of support tickets.
chain of dissatisfaction:
customer -> partner/reseller -> sophos support -> ???
time to act!

100% backing on this. We're selling and deploying UTMs to businesses and its embarrassing when 9 times out of 10 we have to say "its a bug, Sophos are working on it".
The biggest issue we've faced is email encryption with attachments failing, its taken a couple months for that to be fixed so one our biggest clients has had to resort to using snail mail. Needless to say, they aren't happy with the UTM after spending thousands and thousands of pounds on it and have lost faith in it.
Sophos - You need to stop future development and focus on existing bugs and stability else you'll start losing your resellers.

So true and the issues are even worse in 9.3.

I totally agree. Every version we find different bugs.
Thats the key for satisfied customers.. Sophos needs them!!
I couldn`t agree more, this has to be the first and greatest goal to achieve
I totally agree, and would give it 3 (or 20) stars, if I had any left.
DEFINATLY! More testing, and dedicating some more engineering time stability! Even at the expense of amount of new features - whats a feature worth when you cant use it because its buggy?

The same here. System works but could be more reliable and stable like in the good old Astaro 7.x and 8.x series. Please return to that stableness!
I think that they need more time to test and patch the system before any release. The same happens with 9.3 where several bugs still exist. Please dedicate more time for beta test before official release.
