URL Redirection
It would be great if it would be possible to redirect certain URLs
For example:
www.company.com => www.company.ch/site1
www.company.com/site1 => www.company.com/newsite
Thank you :)

Why is this not possible on XG? Should be a standard feature for a reverse proxy
-
Christian commented
Hey Daniel, the Feature is already included in SG UTM - but not yet in XG-Firewall.

Really looking forward to have this feature on the SG.
Simply redirecting from www.mysite.com to www.mysite.com/customerspace is just not possible unless I take hands on the real webserver behind. -

why the **** is this not implemented???
every major firewall can do this.
it's a shame -

In the beginning of this threat it is mentioned that this is easy to do on the web server. Perhaps because of that, this is not implemented yet.
However, this is not true with the Internet of Things. For example, i have a number of camera's that I would like to expose /cam1/, /cam2/, etc.
With this, i can make one firewall rule with different paths, each redirecting to a different cam web server. I can't do the rewrite in the cam itself. -

This appears to be in place for 9.5, however with very limited support.
In my case, for example, the redirected site needs to contain Query Strings in the URL. I don't have control of the webserver (it's integrated with the app running on the Internal Server), so I can't set redirect rules at that level.

We need a real reverse proxy:
https://www.company.com/site1 > http://server1.local/site2
https://www.company.com/site3 > http://server1.local/site4
https://www.company.com/site5 > http://server2.local/site6Its work when i edit the /var/storage/chroot-reverseproxy/usr/apache/conf/reverseproxy.conf but its only a temporary solution, because the utm always replace it.
So we need a path at Site Path Routing/Real Webservers

Uh, URL redirect feature is there, but is lacking! We need to be able to specify "Host" field in the Source (the trigger), not just in the Destination!!

URL redirection is, today, an unavoidable feature for reverse proxying.
The product should be able to redirect in any ways :For example :
www.company.com/site => www.mycompany.int
www.company.com => www.company.int/worldwide
www.company.com/site => www.company.com/newsite
Etc...We are really waiting for this feature.
Hope it will be available in short time.@Mod, do you know when the 9.5 version is going to be released as current version instead of beta ?
Many Thanks in advance

I tried to get this working with the site path routing feature only to learn after a long time that this doesn't do what I am after but just passes on the whole URL including path from the frontend to the backend.

I concur, this is a basic requirement of a reverse proxy solution, I can't believe it's not there already!

How is this not already a part of the XG? The XG is labeled as a TMG 2010 replacement but TMG had this ability and this doesn't? It needs to be added aSAP.

Sophos UTM SUCKS !!!
There is so many features missing and so many issues to be used in a company with more than 100 users !!!!! I regret so much my BlueCoat !!!!Sophos UTM and XG are just good enough for a small business that is doing standard web surfing....
Run Away from that if you are actually concerned by Information Assurance or Cyber Security....
So Frustrated right now !!!!
