  1. Compliance Check for Profiles (iOS/Android etc) with Action Possibility

In the current version 3.0, if a user removes an installed profile (a profiled transferred by SMC), we see only a non-compliancy X in the overview or details of the device.
We should implement the possibility to take action like in the "passcode required" compliancy check, so that we define a set of profiles as "required", like we currently to with app white/blacklisting and if one or more of these profiles are removed by the user we can take action with our 3 step method (EAS block, Notification, Taskbundle).

With the task bundle in compliance check and the ability to make profiles not removable, I see very little, what can be added by this feature

  2. Enhancement of e-mail notification

All notifications should be supported by e-mail in order to control a mobile whtiout 3G network ( like a tablet )

Since SMC 2.0 support for APNS (Apple) and C2DM (Google) is included. Only internet connection is required for managing the devices. Only WinMobile will require SMS

  3. Scheduled decommissioning of devices

It would be very useful to provide a feature that enables administrators to define a decommissioning date for mobile devices. When the provided time has come the SMC server automatically triggers the decommissioning of the device. This feature is very interesting in work environments with many freelancers/ BYOD users that have temporary contracts. It would relieve administrators from repetitive checks if these temporary employees have decommissioned their devices or not. Of course this feature would be limited to iOS & Samsung SAFE devices.

This is already possible by using a task bundle, but execute this at a later time.
If the admin transfers the decommissioning task bundle at the requested date/time, the requested functionality can be achieved

  4. Helpdesk Role for SMC

Can we add functionality to the helpdesk role in SMC, like to enable them to re-enroll a device or re-push a policy to a device?

SMC roles are defined by 80+ different permissions. Existing roles can be modified and new roles can be created. This requires a PS engagement to implement and test

  5. Support for Microsoft Office 365

Support for cloud based email storage

  7. Task Bundles sent for multiple devices

It will reduce time if I could send a Task Bundle to a group of devices at the same time
Maybe Select multiple devices at the device screen and the send a task bundel for all of them.
Now there are 10 posible acction at the device screen but Send a Task Buncle is not on the list

Already possible through the transfer feature in the task bundle context menu. the admin can select various devices or a device group

  8. option to wipe the mobile device after x number of days no contact to SMC server

Use case if a device is lost and the first thing most people will do is to make sure the device stay disconnected from any wifi or 3g connection, and MobileIron has the feature that can be configured to wipe the device if there the device has not contacted the MDM server after x number of days.

As Jonathan Parkhurst has already written in a comment, this is already possible.
Go to the device compliance criteria and adjust the “Max Synchronization Gap” for whichever operating system you are working with. Once it reaches that gap (say, 3 days or so), you should choose to “Transfer Task Bundle” on the far right. Setup a task bundle with just one action, Wipe the Device.
I personally find this feature very risky, because users might be on holiday and once they come back and recharge their device, it gets wiped

  9. Support MDM profile download for Apple configurator

Apple Configurator is used quite often in schools. To provision the device and the MDM control in one go, make the MDM base profile downloadable, so it can be applied to the devices in one go

This is supported although the process is different. In Configurator the MDM can be configured and the devices come automatically back to Sophos Mobile

  10. notification for selected mail folders

An option for notifications in selected mail folders.

Secure Email allows up to 10 folders to be synced automatically. Just long-press on the folder to enable this

  11. Restrict sharing or distributing of documents ce and other applications.

Restrict sharing or distributing of documents from the entire mobile device and other applications.

We released support for this in SMC 9.5. You can find it in the Android app sections, once you open the Google Windows. There are 3 icons on the left side. The second icon is about uploading enterprise apps into Google Play for company distribution

  13. DEP and assignment into device groups

upon DEP enrolment have the option to specify a device group name or ID, this would be to have the option for different task bundles to be applied to devices according to the device group specified on DEP enrolment at first device boot.

This feature was added in SMC 7.1. In the Apple DEP profiles, both a device group as well as a task bundle can be specified to be executed after enrollment

  14. EAS Proxy Full Certificate based authentication

Currently the EAS Proxy only supports validating a certificate in addition to username and password. But we need full certificate based authentication with Exchange 2013.
Our users must use Smartcards for logon and dont have the posibillity to provide a user/password combination to Exchange. Full CBA support is the only option for this.

The EAS Proxy supports two modes. The Powershell mode enforces the connection not as a gateway but by communicating with Exchange to allow or block devices. In this mode, the certificate based authentication is done directly against Exchange.
Please switch to this option to enable your scenario.

  15. Roaming alerts

When a mobile goes outside its country it starts to use data roaming, which is much more expensive. Some customers need to create alerts to know if the user is using data roaming or even better, to create a limit of data roaming and send alerts if that limit has been exceed.

Roaming is a compliance rule and can be monitored. The admin can create a task bundle to inform the user to do other stuff

  16. Push Notification for Windows Phone 8

SMC App notifies iOS Users with a push notification when there is a compliance violation. It would be good if Windows Phone 8 users also receive a push notification. At the moment Windows Phone 8 users get "notified" when active sync is blocked.

The Windows Phone 8 users will receive a toast notification. Unfortunately, they appear only for 20 seconds before disappearing. This is a platform limitation

  17. Delete devices based on last synchronisation

A setting which will allow admins to delete devices based on when the devices last successful synchronisation.

This could be options for 30, 60 or 90 days since last successful synchronisation (this is to allow for holidays etc.)

This would remove the reliance on users who have the setting enabled in the SSP to delete old devices in conjunction with restricting the number of devices they can use.

This would also allow a clearer picture of how many devices you have and also free up licences and remove the need for an admin to manually delete each device.

With the ability to sort by last sync date and to do multi selection and delete, an admin can do this with very little effort form the SMC 5 console

  18. "SMC Client installed" compliance check

Providing an own compliance check for the SMC Client would enhance the compliance capabilities of the solution. In case that an user has removed the SMC app the server could simply start the redeployment of the app.

  19. SCEP service without exposing to the Internet

I suggest enabling the use of SCEP in the configuration without exposing the service to the Internet, because this is not a good idea, because the service has poor authorization.
Instead of placing SCEP on the Internet, I suggest using a connector for a service running inside a LAN, just like it was done in Microsoft INTUNE or enabling the use of the service under a private APN.
The proposal is made because we tried to configure the service for mobile phone with Internet access only through a private APN, in which DNS points correctly to the SCEP server from…

Sophos Mobile (on-premise) can act as a SCEP proxy, avoiding the publication of the SCEP server externally

  20. Additional securiy features for android

Anti key logger, spyware removing, rootkit scanning, pre AndroidGUI loading, and android service loading (first sophos should load.) Auto uploading of errors in applications to respective vendors and sophos app.
EMI blocking in mobile devices and blue screen filter to avoid eyesight fatigue

Sophos already supports key logger, spy apps and root kit detection. The other features are out of scope of a Mobile Security app and have to be addressed by other apps
