Currently its not possbile that the IT set up a new device in the device owner mode for the user. The user need do to this in the self service portal.
Is it possible that the device owner mode can be activated over the admin interface?
Thanks and best regards.1 vote
Please create a taskbundle with an enrollment task and a Device Owner Policy. If this is used for enrollment through the admin wizard, the device will be enrolled in device owner mode
Please add an feature in Mobile to block users from access Settings/Accounts & Password. Also add a feature to block accessing mail but can access calendar and contacts. THANK YOU!1 vote
This can be done using the app blocker feature on Android
The field in the login area of the self service portal does not work when using AD-User-Authentication
Error: "Zurücksetzen des Kennworts wird nicht unterstützt. Bitte wenden Sie sich an Ihren Administrator."
Could you please disable it when AD is enabled, so users who want to log in wont get confused.
Thank you1 vote
I close this ticket as this is possible using the latest SMC version. Please upgrade to a newer version
It would be really nice to set up imap accounts the same way exchange accounts can be setup. I know it's allready available for iOS devices, why not implement it for android devices?1 vote
Google has implemented this in a different way. The Google API does not have any dedicated Email configuration option, check here:
But under sections “3.6. Managed configuration management” any app supporting managed configurations can be configured, including e.g. the Gmail app.
So you must search an app supporting IMAP, which allows managed configurations. Those can be pushed through the Sophos Mobile including the required configuration
this is my first post so i hope i can descript the idea correctly.
SMC use for the pushing Notification GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) but it gives user that use more and more modificated Andriod Systems in the company that has no Google Services on board.
So no GCM is availible on the devices.
In the future a alternative push function without GCM and only based on SMC is the idea.
I hope Sophos can work on that to make SMC with full functionality attractiv for alternative OS for example lineAge OS.

Sophos already supports Baidu as alternative push gateway. Please check the system setup for the required configuration. This allows communication to devices with no GCM access.
Since people get VERY creative when naming their iOS device, it's hard to impossible to link a device name like "miPhone" or "iFon" in the compliance summary to a user without backend login. A great solution would be to set device name = SamAccountName during enrollment, but I guess, Apple has a different point of view on that.
A nice workaround would be to display the SamAccountName in the compliance report next to device name.1 vote
If the device name is used or not is configured under Setup > General > iOS. Normally the user name is used, but maybe a box is ticked here

Sophos Mobile has this feature. Unfortunately, we had a bug in Version 7.1 so the message for upgrading wasn’t delivered this time. Please upgrade to 8.0 to get future notifications
Another option is to follow the Sophos Mobile channel on Twitter. All updates, including all apps are posted there:
Any option or chance to save an attachment from Sophos Secure Email in a way to open exclusively in the Secure Workspace, store it in the Secure Workspace, maybe edit it in the SW, then in case of need to send it with Secure Email app?1 vote
Feature is already implemented
upon DEP enrolment have the option to specify a device group name or ID, this would be to have the option for different task bundles to be applied to devices according to the device group specified on DEP enrolment at first device boot.3 votes
This feature was added in SMC 7.1. In the Apple DEP profiles, both a device group as well as a task bundle can be specified to be executed after enrollment

Would love to be able to move a device from one user to another user using the 'People' directory. Currently, if someone trades a physical device the only way we can make that change in the directory is to uninstall sophos from the device and reinstall it under the new name. It seems like a lot of work for something that could otherwise take a few clicks of the mouse to reassign a device.1 vote
This is already possible. Select the device. Switch to edit mode via the button at the bottom. Now you have an edit icon next to the user name to reassign or unassign a device
i'd like to be able to create a web filtering policy for Sophos mobile security that can be applied to all devices registered with our cloud mobile control so that i can go in and define what types of websites are allowed to be accessed from our company devices registered with cloud mobile control.
Right now i can push Sophos Mobile Security to the devices but have to go in and manually enable the web filter options that can be disabled by the end user if they access mobile security.1 vote
in the coming weeks you will received an upgrade to your existing cloud mobile solution. If you own both the Central mobile standard and Central Mobile security, or just the Central mobile advanced you will be able to enable the web filter policy options via the Central mobile management interface. (note if you only own standard you will need to upgrade your license to manage SMSec)
Please reach out to your partner or Sophos Sales team for an up to date demonstration of the Mobile capabilities of Sophos central.
It will reduce time if I could send a Task Bundle to a group of devices at the same time
Maybe Select multiple devices at the device screen and the send a task bundel for all of them.
Now there are 10 posible acction at the device screen but Send a Task Buncle is not on the list5 votes
Already possible through the transfer feature in the task bundle context menu. the admin can select various devices or a device group
Currently the EAS Proxy only supports validating a certificate in addition to username and password. But we need full certificate based authentication with Exchange 2013.
Our users must use Smartcards for logon and dont have the posibillity to provide a user/password combination to Exchange. Full CBA support is the only option for this.3 votes
The EAS Proxy supports two modes. The Powershell mode enforces the connection not as a gateway but by communicating with Exchange to allow or block devices. In this mode, the certificate based authentication is done directly against Exchange.
Please switch to this option to enable your scenario.
Sometimes a customer need to connect external site via internal network(if using a cloud service only allow via internal network)
To use this the customer want saving password to connect to external site. Like chrome/safari does.
Will it be possible or not intend to save password?1 vote
This is supported if properly configured

My users cannot play their emailed voicemail from their Sophos MDM Mailbox. We get an error Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file. I do not see where I can change the filtering if .wav files.
It is possible to allow a user to select how they would like to handle their wav files much like they do with other applications? Or at the very least allow it to play with a native player?1 vote
This scenario is supported. Please install Sophos Secure Workspace as well. It has the capability to play the .WAV files. Use “view in Secure Workspace” to play the files
It should be an option to sync a company (global) address book to a mobile device managed by smc.1 vote
