  1. revoke

The Automatic Revoke BITLOCKER Key feature of Sophos needs to be a configurable setting
at the enterprise and estate levels or via the Encryption Policy. Automatically revoking a valid key requires that the PC be off-line for the "former" valid key to be used. If the PC is on-line and the key is read, that key immediately become invalid - even if the PC is shutdown shortly. We need to be able to read a key and use it. We need the option to revoke or not. I recommend a read option and a revoke option.

    • Define Password Complexity from Central

Please add some more Bitlocker configuration possibilities, like the option to configure the password complexity, as described here:

This is on the backlog for a future release.
We can’t control the GPO settings for the password complexity which means that if the Admin overrides password rules via central GPO settings then we can’t enforce the Central Device Encryption password rules on the endpoint. However, if there are no password rules defined via GPO, the Central Device Encryption password rules will apply.

      • Support for Central Device Encryption on Server platforms

Manage BitLocker on Server platforms and also support a cost-effective decommissioning process of drives.

          • Sophos Central Disk Encryption: Need to be able to decrypt a drive from Central Management

Sophos Central Disk Encryption: Need to be able to decrypt a drive from Central Management

            1. It would be really convenient. It could be done as a popup/checkbox choice if we are removing the encryption software from an endpoint (or multiple endpoints with a a set of confirmation steps for decrypting).

In an MSP environment, MSP customers often leave and MSPs want the ability to put things back into a state where they were before they got there. Another reason to add this feature .

            • Sophos Central Disk Encryption: Need to be able to select which partitions on Windows and Mac get encrypted

Sophos Central Disk Encryption: Need to be able to select which partitions on Windows and Mac devices alike so that all drives are not always encrypted be default.

On Windows machines, some come from the factory woth recovery partition software. Encrypting these partitions creates a problem for using the recovery options from a post BIOS boot.

On Macs, some devices may have multiple partitions for a variety of reasons. Decrypting them is not done automatically when the primary is decrypted and requires it be a manual process.

Giving the choice adds to the flexibility and benefit of feature flexibility

              • Sophos Central - Manage Endpoint Software: Add ability to remove any/all Sophos software from a computer from the Central Management Console

Sophos Central - Manage Endpoint Software: Add ability to remove any/all Sophos software from a computer from the Central Management Console.

This should include just Central Encryption Components as well.

Many MSPs want the ability to remove their management for their customers and this would include all traces or a managed software solution. This is a very common request among MSPs and their automation facilities and tools that they use to manage and deploy software to customer computers.

                • Support for Institutional Recovery Key on macOS

Institutional recovery keys are most often used to have one common recovery key so that Administrators can unlock all managed encrypted systems within the whole company with that recovery key.

                  • Remotely trigger a PIN reset from the Central Dashboard for machines using encryption.

Having the ability to force a user to change their PIN via a request from the Central dashboard would be useful. We've gotten a number of requests for the ability to do this from sysadmins.

                    • Implement prominent messages for the use of non-primary Bitlocker Protectors

In case of an incorrect TPM-initialization, clients try to use the fallback protector.
It is possible to use "password" as fallback and a GPO that encrypts the machine without TPM.

In this scenario users will use a non-TPM protected machine without knowing (average users see no difference between pin an numeric-4-letter-password).

Clients should inform the user or the SO via Management Center, that Fallback Protector is used and primary Protector wasn't used at all.

In Central Device Encryption we create an alert if the TPM cannot be initialized properly and do not automatically fallback from TPM + PIN to e.g. a password protector. The automatic fallback happens only if the TPM is not enabled in the BIOS and therefore we don’t know that there is a TPM existing. Nowadays almost all systems come with the TPM enabled in the BIOS.
