    Feature Request Summary

Feature request/enhancement: Need the ability to purge old managed endpoint computer objects after defined expiration period of no communication. Old computer objects use licenses and should expire after time threshold.

Issue: When a computer is added to Endpoint Protection, and then it is reimaged/renamed in the network/domain, then Sophos is reinstalled and there are two objects in the Managed Computers console - difficult to sort out. The old computer object should expire after no…

    • IPv6 SSO in STAS

Currently the STAS implementation only supports IPv6, when you enter an IP Address in the "Networks to be monitored", an error message of "Invalid Network IP" is thrown.

This is preventing a native IPv6 rollout as we are unable to apply user based rules to IPv6 traffic (as no users are authenticated...).

      • Accept own domain only from internal interfaces

There is a leak in the mail protection.
Whan a spammer connects to the UTM and uses our own domain as the sender, the UTM will not block the e-mail.

It would be nice to accept e-mails from our own domain only through internal interfaces and not the WAN interface.

        • usability improvement

It would be great if we could use wildcards (*) for blocking sub-domains, i.e. *@*.*.whatever-domain.com.
For example, we do not want any e-mail from e-mail marketing service providers, such as MailChimp and alike, our blacklists are massive and keeping them up to date is a chore. We use UTM 9.403-4.
Maybe there is an easy way, but we are not aware of it. I am sure, those who are not very familiar with regular expressions would appreciate this feature.

          • allow WAN link failure to trigger failover in a HA cluster where separate WAN switches are in use

Allow a WAN link failure based on an upstream ping to trigger a HA failover from Master to ***** SG nodes. This is to facilitate the loss of upstream WAN switches that are physically separate.

            • Pi-Hole

I'd like to see Pi-Hole integrated into the UTM. Pi-Hole is an application that allows you to filter DNS requests based on settings you can set yourself. Its very light weight and should integrate very well within the UTM.

              • Specify order of DNS used by Request routing instead of Round robin.

When configuring a request route, the ability to specify the primary, secondary and tertiary DNS would allow clients to control what the priority and order the UTM uses for each DNS.

The alert description column in Sophos Central is extremely truncated. Add the ability to Expand the columns to read the entire desc.

                    • Introduce a mechanism by which particular browsers, for example, Firefox may be blocked by the Sophos UTM.

We are looking at Sophos UTM as a possible replacement for our current Microsoft 2010 TMG instance. Within The HTTP filter on TMG 2010 it was possible block content based on signatures within the request header. For example, to block Firefox, TMG 2010 could be configured to identify the Firefox user-agent within the request header and block it if need be.

                        • IPS Notifications - Domain Name inclusion

I have Sophos UTM Setup with IPS and WebServer Protection. I have about 4 Virtual Servers, but one real Web server. everything works the way it should however, when i get an IPS intrusion, then email does not show which domain was under attack. is it possible to add this manually into some template Sophos uses or is there a setting I am missing to show that feature?

                          Intrusion Prevention Alert

An intrusion has been detected. The packet has been dropped automatically.
You can toggle this rule between "drop" and "alert only" in WebAdmin.

                          Details about the intrusion alert:

                          • Webmin - Scale the bandwidth graphs to match interface limits

Currently the instantaneous bandwidth graphs are scaled to the maximum throughput shown and the graph rescales as required - it would be handy to scale them to the max bandwidth set for the interface - this will show utilisation against the theoretical interface maximum, not just recent peaks .

Maybe a toggle to switch graph scaling between 110% of the defined interface max and the current method.

How to handle both up and down link may need work - eg uplink traffic is solid line and downlink traffc is dotted line.

                            • remove hyperlinks from surf protection end user messages

In UTM 9, we would like to remove the hyperlinks in the surf protection messages offered to end-users, specifically the "Add exception for this url" link.

Our users are clicking the hyperlink and then are "blindly" attempting to log into the UTM portal - for which they don't have access.

The ability to customise these messages is not in the Customisation section of the UTM interface.

Allow changing of the DPD values on the UTM GUI. Currently we can only switch the Dead Peer Detection on or off. We should be able to change the DPD action and delay & timeouts from the graphic interface.

                                • show flexiport in the UTM graphic representation

When I install a flexiport extension, I can see the new interfaces in a list, but the picture of the UTM is not updated with the flexiport that has been installed and the status of its ports.

This improvement is only cosmetic, as it does not affect to normal function of the UTM, but I think it is important. It will make it clearer to customers and network administrators as they will see all the ports status in a single view.

Include a "group" field in the http.log to help ease with creating syslog reports.

                                      • Option to redirect to port 80 when SSL certificate is invalid

I am finding blocked sites because the server has port 443 open even though SSL is not used. Most often, the site is hosted on akamai, and the server has a default certificate for a248.e.akamai.net. Sometimes this occurs because the user does a Google search and Google's search result uses HTTPS. I suspect that their search database favors HTTPS over HTTP when both are available.

When I contact site owners, they are generally not motivated to close port 443, and the Google search database will be slow to update even if they are responsive.

It would be helpful to have…

                                        • SUM notification - [INFO-913] Global resource level limit exceeded

The SUM server often sends an email notification on behalf of a managed UTM with the subject: [INFO-913] Global resource level limit exceeded, but doesn't say what limit has been exceeded. It's necessary to logon on to the UTM and check through the logs to determine what caused the alert. It would be good if the notification from the SUM contained some additional information to save time on identifying the cause.
                                          Thanks.
